Known for its white wines, bodega Mar de Envero is the producer of Volandia Mencía Barrica, the first Spanish red wine of the winery.
This varietal Mencía comes from DO Ribeira Sacra, the region where this multifaceted red variety expresses its most delicate Atlantic side.
Hand-harvested in small boxes, the grapes were vinified in stainless steel tanks, where they were cold-macerated before fermenting under controlled temperature.
After that, the red wine Volandia Mencía Barrica 2018 was aged in French oak barrels for 12 months.
Before being bottled, this red wine from Ribeira Sacra was aged for some months in the tanks. Then it was aged in the bottle for 6 months minimum prior to being released onto the market.
This crisp Crianza red wine will make a fabulous pairing with BBQ’d meat and braised vegetables.
