One of the most sought-after wines from DO Ribera del Duero, Viña Sastre Pesus is produced by Bodegas Hermanos Sastre, a family-run winery that proudly carries the torch of tradition.
As usual, this Spanish red wine is made basically from Tinta del País (Tempranillo), complemented with a 15% of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
The three varieties are sorted from vineyards around 90 years of age, composed of clay-limestone soils and planted at 800 metres of altitude, on the margins of the Duero river.
Traditionally vinified, this red wine from Ribera del Duero was fermented in stainless steel tanks, after which it completed malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels.
Once both fermentations were completed, Viña Sastre Pesus 2015 was aged for 18 months in the barrels, during which period it was racked four times.
We suggest decanting this reserva red wine at least 1 hour before drinking.
Only 2,000 bottles produced.
