Only in truly exceptional vintages, Bodegas Hermanos Sastre crafts Viña Sastre Pesus, a one-of-a-kind Spanish red wine that purports to embody the true essence of Ribera del Duero.
It is made from 80% Tinta del País (Tempranillo), with a 20% of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
This premium red wine from Ribera del Duero is made from very old vines, 80 to 100 years of age, grown in clay-limestone soils at 800 metres of altitude.
Traditionally vinified, Viña Sastre Pesus 2014 was fermented in tanks. Then it was transferred into oak barrels, where it completed malolactic fermentation.
After that, this reserva red wine was aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels. Finally, it was kept in the cellar for some years before hitting the market.
It is essential to decant it at least 1 hour before drinking.
Only 2,000 bottles produced.
