The top-tier wine from Bodega Hermanos Sastre, Viña Sastre Pesus is only produced in exceptional vintages.
Bold and refined, this Spanish red wine from Ribera del Duero is sourced from the best parcels of the winery.
The wine is a blend of 85% Tinta del País (Tempranillo) with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, all coming from vines over 80 years old.
The plots are located at an altitude of 800 metres above sea level in the town of La Horra, Burgos, one of the most sought-after enclaves of the region.
Alcoholic fermentation of this red wine from Ribera del Duero took place in stainless steel tanks, after which the wine went through malolactic fermentation in oak barrels.
Then Viña Sastre Pesus 2012 was aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels. Finally, this reserva red wine was kept in the bottle for a few years.
Production is in the region of 2,000 bottles.
