We present you the 2016 vintage of Viña Ardanza Reserva Magnum, produced by bodega La Rioja Alta.
A blend of Tempranillo and Grenache, this Spanish red wine is made from over 30-year-old vines located over 500 metres above sea level in the heart of DOCa Rioja. The Rioja Regulatory Board qualified the 2016 vintage as «Very Good.»
Harvested in 15-kg. boxes during the second half of October, the grapes were selected and then fermented in stainless steel tanks. After that, the Tempranillo was aged for 36 months in 4th year American oak barrels, during which process it was racked six times. As for the Grenache, it was aged for 30 months in 2nd and 3rd year American oak barrels, with five rackings.
Finally, Viña Ardanza Reserva 2016 Magnum was bottled in June 2020 and aged for a further months in the cellar prior to its release.
It is advisable to aerate this Reserva red wine from La Rioja at least 1 hour before drinking.
