The compelling Tros Blanc Saleres is the flagship Spanish white wine of the prestigious winemaker Alfredo Arribas. It is, so to speak, his Grand Cru.
This varietal White Grenache is sourced from a single plot – called «Tros» in the Catalan language – planted with 70-year-old, low-yielding vines. The vineyard is located near the village of El Masroig, at 325 metres of altitude, in the very heart of DO Montsant.
The grapes were harvested by hand in little boxes and subsequently fermented in big French oak vats.
After that, this white wine from Montsant was aged for 10 months on lees in those same vats.
An age-worthy white wine, Tros Blanc Saleres 2016 should definitely improve in the bottle.
Decant this Crianza white wine 1 hour before drinking.
