Made from vines with an average age of 85 years, Triga is a remarkable Spanish red wine produced by Bodegas Volver in the town of Pinoso, DO Alicante.
A blend of 85% Monastrell vines and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, the vineyards are at an altitude of 750 metres above sea level. The soils are filled with fossils and covered by a thick layer of limestone.
Produced by Rafael Cañizares & Jorge Ordóñez, with the aid of prestigious Aussie oenologist Chris Ringland, the grapes were carefully harvested and meticulously crafted.
Each plot was separately vinified. Malolactic fermentation took place in French oak barrels, where this red wine from Alicante was then aged for 20 months.
Once the ageing process was completed, Triga 2019 was blended and aged for a further months in the cellar in order to fully round it.
Decant this reserva red wine at least 1 hour before you drink it.
