The remarkable Somni, produced by winemaker Alfredo Arribas through the Portal del Priorat brand, is made from 14 hectares of vineyards in the process of obtaining an organic agriculture certification.
This blended Spanish red wine aims to convey the unique character of rugged Priorat in a fresh, gentle manner.
Both the Syrah and Carignan varieties are grown in slopes and terraces composed of black and blue slate soils, a factor which imparts a distinctively mineral character to this red wine from Priorat.
After a manual harvest, the grapes were macerated and fermented fo 22 to 24 days with indigenous yeasts. After that, Somni 2017 from was aged for 15 months in French oak barrels and oak vats.
Decant this Crianza red wine no less than 1 hour before drinking.

| Palate | Full of life and thrust, but not overbearing, this red wine of Alfredo Arribas is textured, nocturnal, and gently mineral. The note of Mediterranean garrigue is very present, alongside some hints of dark fruit and nuances of flowers, spices and raw cocoa. Tannins are mild and acitidy is simply stupendous. Long, uplifting finish, full of nuance and intrigue. |
