Ron Mount Gay Eclipse has been being produced in the Mount Gay Distilleries in Barbados since 1919. The name of the company is thought to have originated from the sun eclipse that ocurred in the same year of its inception.
This Barbados rum was crafted from sugarcane juice that was subsequently fermented and distilled in columns. After that, the rum was aged in American oak barrels prior to its bottling.
Ron Mount Gay Eclipse has a clean, bright amber colour. The nose is complex and well-balanced, with notes of candied yellow fruit, withered flowers, Tahitian vanilla, balsam and smoke. The palate is light and agile and has a long, enticing finish.
