The remarkable Remírez de Ganuza Reserva is an indisputable classic of modern Rioja.
Made from a blend of Tempranillo (88%), Graciano (10%) and 2% Viura and Malvasía, this Spanish red wine was sourced from vineyards 60 years old on average.
The vines are planted in clay-limestone soils, scattered over several towns around the Sierra Cantabria mountain range.
Produced by Remírez de Ganuza, this Reserva red wine was vinified with extreme attention to detail. Fully destemmed and meticulously sorted, the grapes – selected only from the «shoulders» of the grape bunches – were fermented in stainless steel tanks and 7,000 litre French oak vats.
The malolactic fermentation of Remírez de Ganuza Reserva 2015 took place in new French oak barrels. Once completed, the wine was aged for 27 months in French oak barrels (74%) and American oak barrels (26%), and for a further 24 months minimum in the bottle before its commercial release.
Decant this red wine from La Rioja a minimum of 1 hour before drinking.
