Made by bodega Raimat, a brand of Grupo Codorniu, Raimat Turons de la Pleta is a rather special Spanish white wine.
A varietal Chardonnay, the grapes come from a single vineyard with limestone soils peppered with pebble stones located in the village of Raimat, in DO Costers del Segre. The area is constantly swept by a cold northern wind.
Picked by hand at dawn, the grapes were cold-macerated, pressed and clarified before undergoing fermentation. This white wine from Costers del Segre was fermented in French oak vats and subsequently racked off of the gross lees, leaving only the fine ones for the ageing process.
After that, the white wine Raimat Turons de la Pleta 2019 was aged for 12 months in the vats with weekly stirrings.
We suggest pairing this wine with oily fish recipes, pasta and rice dishes.
