One of the most representative wines from DO Ribera del Duero, Protos Crianza Mágnum comes in a 1.5-litre bottle, a key feature that guarantees a longer and steadier ageing process.
A varietal Tinta del País, this Spanish red wine is made from grapevines over 25 years of age. In order to reduce yields and optimize sun exposure, the plants are green pruned at the beginning of every growing season
Once the grapes were brought to the facilities of Bodegas Protos, they were first destemmed and gently crushed. Then the wine must was fermented in stainless steel tanks, with pump-downs of the solid skin cap and punch-overs of the underlying wine juice performed on a daily basis.
After that, this red wine from Ribera del Duero was aged for 12 months in one third new, one third 2nd year, and one third 3rd year French and American oak barrels.
Finally, Protos Crianza 2019 Mágnum was aged for a further year in the cellar prior to its commercial release.
Aerate this Crianza red wine at least half an hour before drinking.
