A varietal Grenache wine sourced from old vineyards planted with old clones, Proelio La Canal del Rojo is produced by Bodegas Palacios Vinos de Finca-Proelio.
The venerabel, over 80-year-old bushvines are situated in Badarán, a little-explored area of DOCa Rioja at 670 metres of altitude
The grapes were hand-harvested and meticulously selected. After destemming a 60% of the grapes, this Spanish red wine was fermented with native yeasts in concrete vats. Once the process was completed, malolactic transformation occurred spontaneously.
Then Proelio La Canal del Rojo 2017 was aged for 15 months in 2,000-litre French oak vats.
Finally, this varietal red wine from La Rioja was aged for some months in the bottle before hitting the market.
Decant this Crianza red wine 30 minutes before drinking.
Pair with legume recipes and meat dishes.
