The wine Pezas da Portela is a remarkable expression of the Godello grape.
This varietal Spanish white wine is produced by Bodega Valdesil in the Galician region of Valdeorras, Godello’s homeland.
The grapes come from vines 50 to 70 years of age, planted with old clones and scattered over 11 little plots with different sun orientations and composed of slate soils.
Separately harvested and vinified according to its plot of origin, the grapes were destemmed and cold-soaked. Then they were gently crushed and fermented in French oak barrels of different capacities using wild yeasts.
After that, Pezas da Portela 2021 was blended and aged for a further 6 months in the stailess steel tanks. This Crianza white wine was bottled unfined.
Aerate this white wine from Valdeorras at least 20 minutes before drinking.
