An interesting Spanish red wine from the southern Spanish region of Extremadura, Palacio Quemado Los Acilates is produced by the Palacio Quemado winery, a brand of Bodegas Alvear.
This single parcel red wine is made from Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, coming from vines planted on steep slopes with red clay soils and oriented to the north. Climate is continental with an Atlantic influence.
The grapes were harvested by hand and each variety was separately fermented in concrete diposits with native yeasts. After that, this red wine from Extremadura was transferred into 500-litre oak vats and aged for 12 months.
Finally, Palacio Quemado Los Acilates 2019 was bottled and aged for 12 months before hitting the market.
This is a versatile Crianza red wine.
