Discerning wine aficionados know that the white wines from Priorat are the region’s best kept secret. One of the most renowned among them is Nelín, produced by the legendary René Barbier, founder of Bodega Clos Mogador.
A blend of White Grenache and Macabeo, the grapes come from 4 plots with slate soils located on the outskirts of Gratallops, at altitudes between 350 and 500 metres.
After fermenting with the skins in French oak vats and oak barrels, this Spanish white wine was aged for 12 months in 1,200-litre French oak vats.
After that, Nelín 2019 was stabilized in stainless steel tanks for 6 months before bottling.
This terroir-bound Crianza white wine has a unique personality, which results from the uncommon combination of local white varieties and the legendary slate soils from Priorat.
Only 7,500 bottles produced.
