The red wine Muga Crianza is a all-time Rioja classic produced by Bodegas Muga. Despite its name, it could well be considered a Reserva because of its long ageing process.
This elegant Spanish red wine from La Rioja is a blend of Tempranillo and Grenache, plus a 10% of Mazuela (Carignan) & Graciano.
After the harvest, the grapes were destemmed, macerated, and fermented in wooden tanks using indigenous yeasts. Then this Crianza red wine was aged for 22 months in American and French oak barrels built in the winery’s own cooperage.
Finally, Muga Crianza 2019 was clarified with egg whites and aged for a further 9 months prior to its commercial release.
