This is the flagship Spanish red wine of Celler Masroig. A first-rate, terroir-bound wine.
A varietal Carignan, this Crianza red wine is produced from the oldest grapevines of the winery, located in two vineyards within the DO Montsant: Els Romeus, which is close to the Siurana River and has a soil composed mainly of pebble stones, and Mas d’en Nadal, north-oriented and characterized by its clayey soils.
After completing alcoholic fermentation and a long skin maceration, Masroig underwent malolactic fermentation in 2.000-litre French oak vats, where it was also aged for 18 months.
Then this red wine from Montsant was gently filtered, bottled and aged for a further 6 months before its commercial release.
Decant Masroig 2016 a minimum of 1 hour before drinking.
Production of only 2,528 numbered bottles.
