Coming from DO Cariñena (a region in Aragón not to be confused with the grape variety of the same name), Mas de Mancuso Garnacha is a noteworthy Spanish red wine which demonstrates that DO Cariñena has all the markings of a great wine region.
Produced by bodega Mas de Mancuso, one of the wineries that are rapidly changing the public perception of Aragonese wines, this red wine from DO Cariñena is sourced from a single vineyard with slate, clay and marl soils, planted at approximately 650 metres above sea level near Almonacid de la Sierra, a cool area surrounded by forests.
The hand-picked grapes were partially destemmed (60%) and then the wine must was cold-macerated for about 48 hours. After that, the wine was fermented in open stainless steel tanks for 40 days, with periodic pump-overs.
Then the red wine Mas de Mancuso Garnacha 2018 was aged for 16 months in 2nd year French oak barrels.
Complex and intense, this Crianza red wine should be decanted for some time before drinking.
3,500 bottles produced.
