The bearer of a family tradition that harks back to the XIIth century, Martí Fabra, the producer of Martí Fabra Selecció Vinyes Velles, embodies the very essence of the Empordà region.
As usual, this Spanish red wine is made from a blend of Grenache and Carignan, sourced from vines 50 to 80 years of age.
Surrounded by olive trees and Mediterranean garrigue, the vines grow in slate soils and are constantly swept a harsh northern wind called Tramuntana.
Meticulously harvested and separately vinified, Martí Fabra Selecció Vinyes Velles 2021 was aged for 9 months in underground concrete diposits and for 12 months in French oak barrels.
