This well-known Spanish red wine embodies like few others the essence of La Rioja.
Among other things, the region is famed for the age-worthy potential of its wines. A quality, by the way, which Marqués de Riscal Reserva, produced by the Marqués de Riscal winery, abundantly possesses.
Made from a traditional Rioja blend, the Tempranillo is the main component, nuanced by a dollop of Graciano. The grapes come from grapevines that have already reached quite a respectable age, as they were planted before the 1970s.
Vinified at a controlled temperature of 26ºC and macerated for 12 days, Marqués de Riscal Reserva 2018 was subsequently aged in American oak barrels for 22 months.
Prior to its commercial release, this Rioja red wine was aged for a further year in the cellar.
Aerate this Reserva red wine some time before drinking.
