A varietal Spanish white wine of bodega Cava Maria Casanovas, Maria Casanovas Vinya Lluny is produced from a single Xarel·lo vineyard situated on the outskirts of Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, DO Penedès. Belonging to the great-grandfather of Maria Casanovas, Vinya Lluny took its name from its remote location (in Catalan, «lluny» means «far»)
Hand-picked and cold-macerated for 10 hours, the grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged for a couple of months before being bottled.
This varietal white wine from Penedès, incidentally, was bottled with the waning moon, which according to the biodynamic calendar is the ideal time to do so.
This natural white wine was added no additives at any stage of the winemaking process.
