This elegant and complex organic Cava is produced by Maria Casanovas, a Penedès-based family winery which crafts Brut Nature cavas only.
Interestingly, Maria Casanovas Gran Reserva Brut Nature Magnum is made principally from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, which are complemented with a minor proportion of the traditional Cava varieties: Xarel·lo, Macabeo and Parellada. The resulting Spanish sparkling wine is nuanced and complex.
Each of the grape varieties was separately fermented in stainless steel tanks. Then Maria Casanovas Gran Reserva Brut Nature Magnum was blended, and aged for a minimum of 30 months.
Very versatile, the fact that this organic Cava from Penedès comes in a magnum bottle is a plus point.
