Known for her Nita, one of the friendliest Spanish red wines produced in the sometimes imposing Priorat, winemaker Meritxell Pallejà presents the second vintage of her flagship wine.
A single varietal Grenache, Magran Partida Les Manyetes is crafted from young vineyards around 10 years of age. All of them are planted in a estate called Les Manyetes, composed of very hard slate soils of a very particular geological composition. All of the farming operations are performed manually, following the guidelines of biodynamic agriculture.
After the harvest, the grapes of this red wine from Priorat were destemmed, crushed and spontaneously fermented with indigenous yeasts and two daily punch-downs. Fermentation lasted for a lunar cycle.
Then this Grenache from Priorat was aged for 13 months in new and 2nd year French oak barrels. Lastly, Magran Partida Les Manyetes 2015 was aged for a further 3 months before its release.
A high-end red wine, it will considerably improve over the next years. Properly stored, it will drink nicely over the next 10 years.
Production of only 1,000 bottles. Decant a minimum of 1 hour before drinking.
