Coming from DO Rías Baixas, Leirana Albariño is the entry-level Spanish white wine of the prestigious Forjas del Salnés winery. The two names behind it are Rodrigo Méndez and the one and only Raúl Pérez.
This varietal Albariño wine is made from a 4-hectare parcel with granite and sandy soils planted with 40 to 60-year-old vines.
The grapes were hand-harvested at their optimal ripening state. Then 60% of the wine must was fermented in stainless steel tanks, and 40% was fermented in oak vats. Both were aged on lees for 6 months.
Finally, Leirana Albariño 2022 was bottled and aged for some weeks in the cellar prior to its commercial release.
