A varietal Tempranillo, La Vicalanda Reserva is produced by Bodegas Bilbaínas, a household name from La Rioja.
The grapes are sourced from three of the winery’s best vineyards, planted with the traditional caldero system from La Rioja. Farmed following environmentally sustainable agricultural techniques, the hand-tended vines are 35 years old on average.
The grapes were manually harvested and selected on site and in the cellar. This Spanish red wine was macerated and fermented in stainless steel tansk for a period of 3 weeks under controlled temperature.
After that, this reserva red wine was transferred into 50% new French oak barrels, where it went through malolactic fermentation and was aged for a period of 14 months.
Finally, La Vicalanda Reserva 2015 was bottled and aged for a further before its commercial release.
Do aerate this Rioja reserva at least 40 minutes before drinking.
Pair with hearty meat dishes, cured cheeses and cold cuts.
