One of the most prestigious wineries in Priorat, Celler Vall Llach presents the new vintage of Idus de Vall Llach.
Totally indigenous, this Spanish red wine is made from a blend of very old vineyards of Carignan and Grenache.
The grapes come from little plots – called «Trossos» – owned by local peasants who farm the vineyards in the most traditional manner and with the utmost respect for the Priorat environment. The plots are located on the outskirts of Porrera.
Each plot was harvested by hand. Once in the premises, the grapes were destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks with mild punch-downs and pump-overs.
After a post-fermentation maceration which lasted 15 days, Idus de Vall Llach 2021 was gently pressed. Then half of the grapes underwent malolactic fermentation in the tanks, while the other half completed the process in barrels.
Then this red wine from Priorat was transferred and aged for 14 months in 2nd year French oak barrels. During the process, the wine was racked once.
Decant this Crianza red wine a minimum of 1 hour before drinking.
Very limited production.

| Nose | Deep, enticing and misterious. This blend of Grenache and Carignan opens with some exuberant notes of blackberries and mulberries, nicely combined with aromas of spices, bitter chocolate, rosemary, laurel and flowers. On the background, a layer of rich mineral nuances and Mediterranean garrigue. |
