Produced by Herència Altés, Herència Altés La Pilosa is a quite uncommon, hence very interesting varietal Hairy Grenache from DO Terra Alta, an up-and-coming wine region in southern Catalonia.
This varietal Spanish red wine is produced from vineyards with limestone soils situated at 350 metres of altitude.
Hand-harvested and carefully selected, once in the cellar the grapes half-destemmed, gently crushed, and fermented in concrete tanks under controlled temperature, with daily punch-downs.
After completing malolactic fermentation, the red wine Herència Altés La Pilosa 2021 was aged in 5,000 litre Austrian oak vats for 8 months.
Before being bottled, this red wine from Terra Alta was gently fined.
We suggest pairing this Crianza red wine with a lamb stew with vegetables.
