This is the new vintage of one of Gran Claustro, one of Catalonia’s classiest red wines
Made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Samsó (Carignan), the grapes come from several vineyards located in the rugged, windswept region of northern Empordà, an exceptional terroir located near the Catalan-French border.
Produced by Castillo de Perelada, the grapes were meticulously harvested and selected. Then this Spanish red wine was fermented and macerated in stainless steel tanks.
After that, Gran Claustro 2016 was aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels. Finally, this Reserva red wine was aged for a further 24 months in the bottle.
Decant this red wine from L’Empordà at least 30 minutes before drinking.
