This refined Spanish sparkling wine is produced exclusively from Pinot Noir vineyards planted in the very heart of the Garraf Massif, at a distance of 15 kilometres from the Mediterranean sea.
The area is a dry mountain range with limestone soils peppered with marine fossils. This fact imparts Gran Caus Clímax Rosé Brut Nature a distinctively saline quality, a trait shared by all of the wines of the Can Ràfols dels Caus winery.
Harvested by hand, the grapes were first macerated for a short period of time and then fermented in stainless steel tanks. Then this Rosé Brut Nature was bottled, after which it completed secondary fermentation and a 30 month aging period. This organic sparkling wine is bone dry; thus, no sugar was added to it after the disgorgement.
The result is Gran Caus Clímax Rosé Brut Nature 2018, a simply irresistible Mediterranean sparkler.
