Produced by Bodegas Morca, a brand of Gil Family Estates, Godina Garnacha is a varietal Grenache coming from DO Campo de Borja, in the northern Spanish province of Aragón.
The grapes were sorted from vineyards planted on the sides of the Moncayo mountain range. The area has a Continental climate with an Atlantic influence. The Cierzo, a cold north wind, is a key factor there, for it cools the vines during the long, hot summers.
Picked by hand, each plot of grapes was separately fermented in stainless steel tanks. After that, this Spanish red wine was transferred into French oak barrels, where it completed malolactic fermentation.
Finally, Godina Garnacha 2020 was aged for 15 months in the barrels.
This small production Crianza red wine is excellent with cold cuts, roasted meat and stew recipes.
