Produced by Cava Gatell, a young and up-and-coming winery from Penedès, Gatell Ambrosía Brut Nature Gran Reserva is an interesting Spanish sparkling wine made from the traditional Cava combination of grapes.
A blend of Xarel·lo, Macabeo and Parellada, the three varieties were vinified in an unusual manner. First, each variety was fermented in French oak barrels and aged for some months. After blending the three base wines, the wine was put back into the oak barrels, where it was aged for a further months.
Then Gatell Ambrosía Brut Nature Gran Reserva 2016 was bottled. Once secondary fermentation was completed, this cava brut nature was aged for 40 months minimum before being disgorged.
A versatile sparkler, this cava gran reserva will pair well with virtually any food you fancy.
