This is the new vintage of the Spanish red wine that bears the name of the prestigious Finca Villacreces winery. The company is situated in the «Golden Mile» of the Ribera del Duero region, not far Dominio de Pingus and Vega Sicilia.
A blend of Tempranillo (86%), Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) and Merlot (4%), Finca Villacreces is produced from low-yielding, certified organic vineyards located over 700 metres of altitude.
Selected twice, the first time on site and the second time in the cellar, alcoholic fermentation and maceration of this red wine from Ribera del Duero took place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Malolactic fermentation was carried out in new French oak barrels, where the wine was then aged for over a period of 14 months.
Prior to bottling, Finca Villacreces 2018 was clarified with egg whites and gently filtered. Before its commercial release, the wine was aged for a further 6 months in the cellar.
In order to appreciate its complexity, we strongly suggest that you decant this Crianza red wine 1 hour before you drink it.
