A varietal Xarel·lo, Xarel·lo Finca Viladellops is produced from old and young vines planted in three organically grown parcels located in the Garraf mountain range.
A subzone of DO Penedès, the soils of the Garraf mountain range have an abundance of lime nodules and marine fossils. These elements impart a nicely mineral character (for lack of a better word) to this Spanish white wine.
Harvested by hand and separately vinified, the grapes were cooled to a temperature of 3 to 5ºC and cold-macerated. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks, after which the wine was aged on lees for 5 months with periodic stirrings.
Finally, Finca Viladellops Xarel·lo 2019 was gently clarified before bottling.
The production of this organic white wine from Finca Viladellops totalized 30,000 bottles.
