The varietal Grenache Finca L’Argatà is sourced from a single parcel of vines located in the highest area of the DO Montsant, in a beautiful Mediterranean spot where vines coexist with aromatic plants, almond trees and centenary olive trees.
This remarkable Spanish red wine is produced by Joan d’Anguera, a winery that completely redefined its approach to winemaking several years ago and became the first company in Montsant to obtain a Demeter seal, certifying its commitment to the principles of biodynamic agriculture
Grown on hills oriented to the north with soils composed of sand and limestone, the grapes of this red wine from Montsant were harvested by hand in the first half of September. Vinified in concrete vats, the wine was subsequently aged in used French oak barrels for 16 months.
Naturally stabilized during the winter season, Finca L’Argatà 2019 was aged for about 6 months in the bottle before its release.

| Nose | A purebred Montsant of remarkable breadth and purity, this varietal Grenache displays a minerality that, though not as thriving as that found in the wines of the neighbouring Priorat, is perhaps more elegant and evocative. Extremely pure notes of raspberries and blackberries, along with hints of coffee, cocoa, lavender and menthol. |

| Our personal opinion | Lifted, savoury and precise at the same time, Finca L'Argatà 2019 is a fabulous Montsant. |
| Palate | Fresh and well-defined, with plenty of subtleness and real refinement, this biodynamic red wine has a medium-high body, a smooth texture and a crisp acidity. Very persistent, it leaves long mineral remembrances, and some intimations of flowers, spices and Mediterranean garrigue. However, this is only the beginning, because this wine from Joan d'Anguera will have much more to offer in the near future. The wine deserves a little patience, as its parts are slowly coming together. |
