A remarkable Spanish red wine from southeastern Spain, Enrique Mendoza Estrecho Monastrell is a varietal Monastrell made by Bodega Enrique Mendoza, one of the most interesting producers in the region.
The grapes were sourced from a single vineyard, called «Estrecho de Pipa», located in the highest area of DO Alicante. Planted in extremely poor sandy soils, the low-yielding grapevines are farmed following minimal intervention techniques and environmentally friendly procedures, using no chemicals or synthetic pesticides whatsoever.
After a meticulous harvest, Enrique Mendoza Estrecho Monastrell 2019 was traditionally vinified and aged for 15 months in used French oak barrels.
