One of the best varietal Merlot wines in Spain, Enate Merlot Merlot is produced by the Enate winery.
This Spanish red wine from Somontano was the first single varietal of the winery, made after the chief winemaker Jesús Artajona decided to launch a line of wines produced from international varieties.
Harvested at their optimal ripening point, the grapes were vinified in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation took place in new French oak barrels, where this red wine from Somontano was also aged for 15 months. Finally, it was aged for some months in the bottle before its commercial release.
