The vineyard after which Els Escurçons takes its name is situated on the outskirts of Gratallops, at 600 metres of altitude, in the heart of DOQ Priorat.
A varietal Grenache, this Spanish red wine is produced from vines planted in slate soils and surrounded by holm oaks amidst a pristine environment of Mediterranean garrigue and aromatic herbs. In order to maximize the interaction and stimulate the competition between the vineyard and the environment, the land is left unplowed.
Produced by Mas Martinet Viticultors, headed by world-class winemaker Sara Pérez, the grapes were meticulously selected and fermented in clay amphorae.
After a long maceration, Els Escurçons 2018 was aged for 12 months in the amphorae and in demijohns (large glass jugs).
Finally, this organic red wine was aged for some months before being released onto the market.
Decant this red wine from Priorat a minimum of 1 hour before drinking.
