Probably the only reason why the wine De Muller lo Cabaló is not better known is because, despite being a first-class Priorat red wine, it is not produced by a «fancy» winery.
Made from the best estate vineyards of bodega De Muller, this Spanish red wine from DOQ Priorat nonetheless speaks for itself.
The composition of this reserva red wine includes four varieties: Grenache (75%), Merlot and Syrah (10% each), and Carignan (5%).
Harvested in late September, the grapes were macerated and fermented in stainless steel tanks. After undergoing a spontaneous malolactic fermentation, the wine was transferred into new American and French oak barrels, where it was aged for 14 months.
Finally, De Muller lo Cabaló 2016 was aged for 12 months in the cellar prior to its commercial release.
It is important to decant this age-worthy red wine from Priorat 1 hour before drinking at the very least.
