Produced in Massís del Garraf, a limestone-rich area within Penedès, Clos Lentiscus Rosé Brut Nature is an uncommon Spanish sparkling wine made solely from Samsó (aka Carignan) vineyards planted in 1939.
The base wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature using native yeasts. Secondary fermentation of this sparkling wine from Penedès took place inside the bottle, followed by a 20-month ageing period.
Finally. Clos Lentiscus Rosé Brut Nature was not added liqueur de dosage (shipping liquor) after the disgorgement.
It is worth noting that bodega Clos Lentisucus-Can Ramon Viticultors del Montgròs manages the vineyards following rigorous biodynamic principles. This minimal intervantion approach also informs the winemaking techniques.
Production below 6,000 bottles.
