An under-the-radar jewel, Clos Galena is produced by the Domini de la Cartoixa winery in DOQ Priorat.
The main variety ot this Spanish red wine is Grenache, complemented with Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan and Syrah.
The grapes come from five little certified organic parcels which were harvested at their optimal ripening point. Once in the cellar, they were macerated for 21 days, after which each variety was separately fermented in stainless steel tanks.
Blended and transferred into French oak barrels, this Crianza red wine was aged for 12 months.
Prior to its bottling, Clos Galena 2018 was gently clarified with egg whites. Finally, this organic red wine was aged for 24 months in the bottle before its release.
Decant this red wine from Priorat a minimum of 1 hour before drinking.

| Palate | Though this Crianza red wine is still in its adolescence, it shows great class. Texture is very detailed and lush, with loads of black fruit, chocolate and Mediterranean herbs. The wine has tremendous freshness, and its texture, both supple and meaty, is simply irresistible. This wine of bodega Domini de la Cartoixa has a very long finish with notes of smoke, arabica coffee and exotic spices. |
