The top-shelf Spanish red wine of bodega Mas d’en Gil, Clos Fontà expresses Priorat classicism at its best.
A blend of Grenache and Carignan, it is produced from the oldest vines of the winery, planted in llicorella (slate) soils between 1931 and 1970.
The grapes were harvested by hand, meticulously selected and separately vinified. First, they were macerated and fermented in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature.
After that, Clos Fontà 2017 was transferred into French oak barrels of different sizes, where it was aged for 16 months. Finally, it was aged for a further 36 months before it was launched onto the market.
Decant this Priorat red wine 40 minutes before drinking at the very least. Bear in mind, though, that a longer decanting period will greatly enhance your drinking experience.
Pair this Reserva red wine with foie, casseroles and game dishes.
