Produced by Selección César Múñoz, Cienfuegos is a Spanish white wine made from Albarín, Verdejo and Godello. The native, recovered variety Albarín comes from 30-year-old vines located north of Valladolid. The latter ones are selected from very old vineyards planted in rocky soils in an area belonging to the Desgination VT Castilla y León.
The grapes were harvested by hand in late September, just before becoming overripe. After being destemmed, they were separately macerated in stainless steel tanks. After a gentle pressing, the free-run juice of this white wine from Castilla y León was transferred into new, 225-litre French oak barrels, where it was fermented and then aged for 11 months on its lees.
Finally, Cienfuegos 2019 was bottled.
Limited production. This white wine fermented and aged in oak has a great ageing potential.
