This is the new vintage of Cérvoles Negre, produced solely from grapes coming from Vinyes Altes de Les Garrigues, a vineyard located the Pre-Pyrenees area of Catalonia, belonging to the DO Costers del Segre.
Incidentally, Cérvoles Celler, the producer of this Spanish red wine, is a member of the association of high-quality wine producers Grandes Pagos de España since 2002.
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Ull de Lebre (Tempranillo), Merlot and Grenache, the vines are 30 years old on average. They are grown in sandy-clay soils with an abundance of gravel on the surface, at an altitude around 700 metres above sea level, with huge temperature differences between daytime and nighttime.
Harvested by hand, each variety was destemmed and separately vinified in steel tanks. After that, Cérvoles 2018 was blended and aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.
Decant this Crianza red wine at least 20 minutes before drinking.
