Produced by Bodegas Rodero from vineyards over 30 years of age located near Pedrosa del Duero, Carmelo Rodero Reserva is made from one of the oldest and purest Tinta del País clones in DO Ribera de Duero.
The vineyards sit between 750 and 850 metres of altitude, in an area with a harsh Continental climate. The soils are composed mainly of clay, with small amounts of pebble stones, slime and sand.
The composition of this Spanish red wine is 90% Tinta del País (Tempranillo) and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.
After the harvest, the grapes were vinified in stainless steel tanks. Once fermentation and maceration were completed, this red wine from Ribera del Duero was aged for 21 months in French oak barrels, with periodic rackings.
Finally, Carmelo Rodero Reserva 2019 was aged for a minimum of 24 months in the bottle before its commercial release.
Decant this Reserva red wine a minimum of 30 minutes before drinking.
