Produced in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia by Caves Bertha, Bertha Max Gran Reserva is a remarkaby complex, sophisticated Cava.
Indeed, both the composition and the vinification of this cava brut nature are quite unusual.
This blended Spanish sparkling wine is made from 40% Chardonnay fermented and aged for 6 months in oak barrels, 10% Pinot Noir vinified as a Blanc de Noirs, and 50% of the traditional Cava triad, Macabeo, Xarel·lo and Parellada.
The four varieties were separately vinified following the traditional Champenoise method. After that, Bertha Max Gran Reserva 2008 was aged for 10 years in the bottle.
This amazing cava gran reserva has a Champagne-like finesse and structure. Pair with oily fish, white meat recipes, risottos and casseroles.
