Here is the new vintage of Belondrade y Lurton, arguably the most prestigious Spanish white wine from DO Rueda.
A varietal Verdejo, this Crianza white wine of the Belondrade winery is made from over 30-year-old vineyards located at an altitude of 750 metres above sea level. The organically farmed vines grow in soils composed of sand and pebble stones that bring a distinctive freshness and complexity to the wine.
Each plot was separately harvested and vinified. First, the grapes were cold-soaked and spontaneously fermented with their own yeasts in 300-litre French oak barrels. After that, Belondrade y Lurton 2021 aged on its lees in the barrels for 10 months with periodic stirrings.
Then this white wine from Rueda by winemaker Didier Belondrade was blended and aged for a further 5 months before its commercial release.
Aerate this white wine fermented and aged on lees 30 minutes before drinking.
