Produced by Bodegas Baigorri, Baigorri Belus is one of the bottlings of the Vinos de Autor collection.
Made principally from Mazuela (a.k.a. Carignan), something unusual in La Rioja, this Spanish red wine is complemented with some Tempranillo and Grenache.
Meticulously harvested and selected, the uncrushed grapes were destemmed, selected on a vibrating table and fermented in stainless steel tanks with gentle pump-overs performed through gravity.
After that, this red wine from La Rioja was transferred into French oak barrels, where it completed malolactic fermentation. Then it was aged for a period of 14 months.
Finally, Baigorri Belus 2017 was bottled unfined and unfiltered. Before hitting the market, it was kept in the cellar for some months.
