Driven by his passion for the Godello grape, one of Galicia’s great white varieties, Jorge Ordóñez decided to produce white wines in DO Valdeorras with the aid of oenologist Nacho Álvarez.
An outstanding result of their effort is Avancia Godello, a first-class Spanish white wine produced by Bodegas Avancia.
This wine is produced only from the oldest vines of the winery. Located at an altitude of 500 metres above sea level, they were planted at the very beginning of the XXth century.
Meticulously harvested and selected, 20% of the grapes were fermented in French oak barrels, and the rest of this white wine from Valdeorras was fermented in stainless steel tanks.
After that, both were aged on its lees for 10 months with periodic stirrings. Finally, Avancia Godello 2021 was bottled after a gentle filtration.
We recommend that you aerate this Galician white wine 1 hour before drinking.

| Nose | This white wine from DO Valdeorras is complex and nuanced. Aromas of pineapple, mango and peach, along with intense floral and herbal notes over a remarkable, mineral-earthy background, typical of and old-vines Godello, and some subtle, refreshing notions of menthol. |
