Produced by Bodega Áster, Finca El Otero is a single vineyard varietal Spanish red wine from Ribera del Duero.
It is made from Tinta del País grapes coming from a 7.5-hectare plot planted in 1961 in the town of Anguix, near the city of Burgos.
Harvested by hand at their optimal ripening level, the grapes were cold-macerated for 3 days, destemmed, gently crushed and fermented for 14 days in stainless steel tanks. After that, this Crianza red wine was transferred into French oak barrels, where it underwent malolactic fermentation for 3 months, with weekly lees stirrings.
After that, Áster Finca El Otero 2016 was aged in new French oak barrels for a period of 16 months.
Decant some time before drinking.
